BIPOC Queer Movie Night
“Nobody is free, until everybody‘s free.” — Fannie Lou Hamer
The upcoming Safer Space Meeting coincides with International Women’s Day, making it a special opportunity to reflect on the courage of those who fought for justice and equality, while addressing the ongoing struggle against identity-based discrimination. From historical movements to today’s challenges, marginalized communities have faced systemic barriers rooted in race, gender, nationality, and identity. Yet, the fight for justice continues.
Through a film curated by film curator Aileen Ye (She/Her), we’ll open up a conversation about what identity-based discrimination means and how we, as trans and queer people of color, can navigate and challenge it. This is a space to reflect, learn, and share together in solidarity.
Let’s enjoy the power of cinema together to remember the past, confront the present, and imagine a more liberated future. Join us!
