Sven Lütticken

Sven Lütticken is een kunsthistoricus, criticus en redacteur en senior onderzoeksadviseur bij BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht. Hij geeft les aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Amsterdam en het Dutch Art Institute, Arnhem. Lütticken heeft uitgebreid geschreven over de centrale rol van historische theorie in hedendaagse kunst en media. Hij levert regelmatig bijdragen aan internationale tijdschriften en kunsttijdschriften zoals New Left Review, Texte zur Kunst, Grey Room, e-flux journal en Afterall. Zijn publicaties omvatten Deserting from the Culture Wars (2020, co-redactie met Maria Hlavajova); Cultural revolution: Aesthetic practice after autonomy (2016); History in Motion: Time in the Age of the Moving Image (2013); Idols of the Market: Modern Iconoclasm and the Fundamentalist Spectacle (2009); en Secret Publicity: Essays on Contemporary Art (2006). Curatoriële projecten omvatten onder meer The Strange Case of the Case, Dutch Art Institute, Arnhem, 2017; The art of iconoclasm, BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht, 2009; en Lie, once more, forms of reenactment in contemporary art, Witte de With, Rotterdam, 2005. Lütticken woont en werkt in Utrecht.
