Athena Athanasiou

Athena Athanasiou doceert aan de afdeling sociale antropologie van de Pantheion Universiteit voor Sociale en Politieke Wetenschappen in Athene. Haar onderzoeksinteresses omvatten gender-, feministische en queertheorie, biopolitiek, affect, nationalisme en geheugen. Enkele van haar publicaties zijn Agonistic Mourning: Political Dissidence and the Women in Black (2017), Dispossession: The Performative in the Political (met Judith Butler, 2013) en Life at the Limit: Essays on gender, body and biopolitics (in het Grieks, 2007). Ze heeft ook verschillende boeken samengesteld, zoals Deconstructing the Empire: Theory and Politics of Postcolonial Studies (2016), Biosocialities(2011), Rewriting Difference: Luce Irigaray and ’the Greeks’ (samen met Elena Tzelepis, 2010) en Feminist Theory and Cultural Critique (2006). Athanasiou woont en werkt in Athene.
