Kader Attia, La Colonie
Gedurende het project Fragments of Repair zal Kader Attia een nieuw werk maken, in de vorm van een twaalfdelige podcast en geluidsinstallatie met als titel Repair & Listen. Elke aflevering bestaat uit een een-op-een-gesprek tussen de kunstenaar en een in Utrecht of Nederland gevestigde academicus, student of activist die werkzaam is op het gebied van onder meer filosofie, wetenschapsgeschiedenis, economie, psychoanalyse, psychiatrie of sociale epidemiologie. Het werk is gebaseerd op transculturele epistemologie en levenservaringen, en verkent de idee van ‘herstel’ als een concrete praktijk om de psychologische impact van het leven tijdens een pandemie het hoofd te bieden.De afleveringen van de podcast worden gedurende het project beschikbaar gemaakt op deze pagina. Ze zijn ook te beluisteren als geluidsinstallatie als onderdeel van tentoonstelling Fragments of Repair/Kader Attia bij BAK. Dit werk wordt gemaakt in opdracht van en geproduceerd door BAK, in samenwerking met Universiteit Utrecht en verschillende andere partners op gebied van hoger onderwijs en medisch onderzoek.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
