Prospections is BAK's digital forum for anticipatory and propositional discourse, research, and intervention, driven by the urgencies that shape the world at present. Bringing together lived experience, documentation and documents, analysis, and foresight research, Prospections appeals to the potential of imagination-based tactics in shaping what’s to come. At the same time, it is conceived as a modest solidarity framework for supporting the work of neighboring artists, thinkers, and activists.>
"Propositions #10: Instituting Otherwise" was a one-day public symposium on the civic practice of art institutions, organized by BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht on Saturday 7 December 2019, from 13.00–21.00 hrs. The symposium probed the question of how to institute spaces for art in the face of the pressing urgencies of the present.>
"Propositions #9: Deserting from the Culture Wars", part of BAK's long-term trajectory "Propositions for Non-Fascist Living" (2017-2020), took place from 13-17 November 2019 at BAK, and consisted of trainings, lectures, and panel discussions.>
