Nicoline van Harskamp










In februari 2016 organiseert BAK drie Reading Anarchism evenementen, als onderdeel van de tentoonstelling Unstated (or, Living Without Approval). De gelijknamige installatie bij BAK omvat uniform afgedrukte en gebonden edities van alle titels die momenteel zijn ondergebracht in de online anarchistische bibliotheek theanarchistlibrary.org. Gedurende de tentoonstelling kunnen bezoekers door deze bibliotheek bladeren en eigen exemplaren drukken en binden van de boeken die ze willen lezen.

Nicoline van Harskamp heeft in totaal zes gasten uitgenodigd om een boek of artikel uit de bibliotheek te selecteren om aan een publiek te presenteren en met de aanwezigen te bespreken. Alle gastsprekers hebben affiniteit met de anarchistische traditie, maar de titels die ze hebben uitgekozen vertegenwoordigen de meest uiteenlopende tijdperken, locaties en interpretaties.

Het wordt aangeraden dat het publiek ter voorbereiding de zelfde teksten leest als de gasten. De titels zijn zowel online als in de tentoonstellingsruimte beschikbaar; in PDF-formaat op de respectievelijke pagina’s van de verschillende leesgroepen en als gratis boekjes bij BAK.

De avonden zijn vrij toegankelijk en vinden plaats in de tentoonstellingsruimte op de begane grond van BAK.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.

During these sessions—part of the bASIC aCTIVIST kITCHEN (b.a.k.) program in collaboration with Berend Bombarius, De Voorkamer and BAK, basis voor actuele kunst—we want to collectively explore the topic of setting up community kitchens. Different strategies, tools, methodologies, and contexts are explored to learn more about the challenges and opportunities in the practices and theories of community kitchens.
