Zoals wordt aangegeven in de inleiding van Projekt Migration, een interdisciplinair project dat van 2002 tot 2006 in Keulen plaatsvond, ‘zouden Duitsland en Europa zonder migratie in hun historische en huidige vorm niet hebben bestaan’. Het project was erop gericht om aan te tonen dat het model van een natiestaat, dat is gebaseerd op het idee van homogeniteit, niet langer opgaat en dat het huidige Duitsland en het huidige Europa slechts tot stand hebben kunnen komen dankzij de participatie van migranten, of ze nu als ‘gastarbeider’ kwamen of niet. In Projekt Migration werd kritisch gekeken naar de situatie van buitenlandse werknemers en hun worstelingen, hun invloed op de cultuur en hun bijdragen aan de historische ontwikkeling van een land, maar ook naar het huidige beleid met betrekking tot migratie. Het project was een samengesteld geheel van artistieke, historische en wetenschappelijke benaderingen van onderzoek en (re-)presentatie, waarin werd gezocht naar nieuwe modellen voor burgerschap en de postnatiestaat en waarbij migratie werd opgevat als een kracht van maatschappelijke ontwikkeling en politieke actie. In een tijd waarin het zogeheten Westen middels uitsluiting en op een uitgesproken conservatieve wijze de confrontatie aangaat met de nieuwe mondiale migratiestroom, waarbij migranten vooral als ‘anders’ worden beschouwd en assimilatie de primaire eis is, keren Marion von Osten en Kathrin Rhomberg, beiden lid van het curatorenteam van Projekt Migration, terug naar hun project en bespreken de huidige publieke debatten over migratie, alsmede de rol van dit soort transdisciplinaire projecten voor de ontwikkeling van een kritische dialoog tussen verschillende publieksgroepen.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.

Different strategies, tools, methodologies, and contexts are explored to learn more about the challenges and opportunities in the practices and theories of community kitchens.
