Toen Hiwa K zijn reis begon van Sulaymaniyah in Koerdistan-Noord Irak, waar hij vandaan komt, om een vluchteling te worden in Turkije, Griekenland en Italië, zaten er in zijn tas alleen enkele van zijn abstracte schilderijen. In deze video bezoekt hij opnieuw delen van deze reis. Terwijl zijn lichaam grenzen overstak, werd zijn identiteit gefragmenteerd in de vele verschillende rollen die door de blik van anderen op hem werden geprojecteerd. Deze zijn symbolisch gerepresenteerd door de kleine spiegels die ontgroeien aan de antenne die hij balanceert op zijn neus. Zijn beeld is versplinterd en vloeit samen met het landschap. Terwijl zijn leven was blootgesteld aan de dood, hield het oproepen van anekdotes, herinneringen en andere verhalen hem op de been en bood hem vaste grond.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
