Op vrijdag 16 en zaterdag 17 april 2010 presenteert BAK, basis voor actuele kunst de publieke dagen van expo zéro, een project van Musée de la danse/Centre chorégraphique national de Rennes et de Bretagne, Rennes. De publieke dagen vinden plaats bij BAK van 12.00–18.00 uur.
expo zéro is een project ontwikkeld door Boris Charmatz, sinds 2009 directeur van het Centre chorégraphique national de Rennes et de Bretagne, waarvan hij de naam veranderd heeft in Musée de la danse (Museum van de dans). De editie van expo zéro in Utrecht is geïnitieerd door Boris Charmatz, Cosmin Costinas, Martina Hochmuth en Bettina Masuch, samengesteld door Cosmin Costinas en Martina Hochmuth en geproduceerd door BAK samen met Springdance, Utrecht.
expo zéro is een tentoonstelling zonder objecten, die tot stand wordt gebracht door een groep mensen, met hun herinneringen, handelingen, de resultaten van hun samenwerkingen en uitwisselingen. Een groep van tien mensen, onder wie choreografen, dansers, beeldend kunstenaars, filosofen, theoretici en architecten, brengt vier dagen door in BAK, werkend als een soort van denktank. Tijdens deze periode reflecteren de deelnemers vanuit hun eigen discipline op vragen die het conceptuele kader van een ‘museum van de dans’ oproept en proberen zij gezamenlijk een opzet voor de tentoonstelling te bedenken die in de laatste twee dagen van het project zal plaatsvinden.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
