Deze intensieve zomercursus is samengesteld en gedoceerd door Rosi Braidotti en een interdisciplinair team van mede-docenten, waaronder dr. Iris van der Tuin en Maria Hlavajova. De Summer school loopt van 18 tot en met 22 augustus 2014.
De intensieve cursus Critical Theory Beyond Negativity: the Ethics, Politics and Aesthetics of Affirmation verkent kritische theorie in de continentale filosofische traditie, met meer nadrukkelijke aandacht voor de werken van de filosofen Gilles Deleuze, Luce Irigaray, Henri Bergson en Rosi Braidotti. De cursus biedt een inleiding in hedendaagse kritische debatten over de functie van “het negatieve” in de constructie van subjecten en van hun Epistemische en ethische waarden. Met de aanname dat we ons middenin een posthuman turn bevinden als uitgangspunt, verkent de cursus verschillende aspecten van post-menselijke subjectiviteit en benadrukt het productieve potentieel van de post-menselijke gesteldheid, met een pleidooi voor een affirmatieve politiek.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
