Hito Steyerl (Berlin) is an artist and writer whose work, through documentary photography and video, focuses on feminism and militarization, as well as the mass proliferation and dissemination of images and knowledge brought on by digital technologies. Her work comprises film, essays, and installations. She has lectured at Goldsmiths College, London and the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, among other institutions. A collection of her essays is published in The Wretched of the Screen (2012).
