Dmitry Vilensky is an artist, writer, and founding member of Chto Delat?/What is to be done?, a platform initiated in 2003 by a collective of artists, critics, philosophers, and writers with the goal of merging political theory, art, and activism. Vilensky is also an editor of the Chto Delat? newspaper. Chto Delat?’s recent exhibitions include: solo projects under the title What is to be done?…The urgent need to struggle, Galerie Nova, Zagreb and Institute of Contemporary Art, London, 2010; FORMER WEST Research Exhibitions Vectors of the Possible, BAK, Utrecht, 2010 and Principio Potosí, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, 2010; 17th Biennale of Sydney, Sydney, 2010; and the 11th Istanbul Biennale, Istanbul, 2009.
