This conversation between Wassila Abboud and Nihal El Aasar begins by rethinking Palestine as inseparable from the wider history of Arab liberation, and from the unresolved role of the nation-state (or dysfunctional entities) in the region. Moving beyond fragmented historical events, the discussion reflects on how past political events - particularly from the perspective of Egypt and Lebanon - continue to structure the impasse we inhabit today, from imperial intervention and regional realignments to the reshaping of class power and political forces.
