Basecamp for Tactical Imaginaries is a collective cultural infrastructure for gatherings, events, and presentations, unbuilding and rebuilding itself to collectively confront the urgencies of today.
The Basecamp is an ever-growing group of people testing out (new) forms of cultural infrastructure from “below and to the left” (the Zapatistas). Since January, we have been thinking, building, making, and taking action for new democratic imaginaries in which more people and forms of art making can belong.
At the Basecamp, you can participate in workshops, engage in discussions, share meals, debate socio-political issues and propose ways to be or act together. Programmes and events have been organised by different people who each share an interest in culture’s potential to transform or respond to the urgencies of today. What kind of urgencies do you experience and what would you make or do to confront these?
You can find artworks, learning objects, support, critique, and forms of community here. It’s up to you how much you would like to join in.
