Van 15–17 december 2013 huisvest de New World Academy (NWA) de Internationale Piratenpartijen bij BAK. Zij werken met kunstenaars en studenten aan een gezamenlijk project. De uitkomst van de inzet van de 30 deelnemers, Alternative Learning Tank (ALT.), wordt gepresenteerd op het kantoor van Bits of Freedom in Amsterdam. Deelnemers zijn onder meer studenten van de Universiteit van Amsterdam, het Sandberg Instituut en de Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
De Alternative Learning Tank (ALT.) is door meerdere kunstenaars, studenten en leden van de Piratenpartij ontwikkeld als een alternatief educatieplatform in het elektronische tijdperk. Universiteiten en academies handelen veelal vanuit een negentiende-eeuws perspectief op burgerrechten, terwijl het tijdperk van Chelsea Manning en Edward Snowden ons geleerd heeft dat onze identiteiten zich ook uitstrekken tot in het elektronische – digitale – domein. Hoe kunnen we reageren op de extreme inbreuken op privacy en burgerrechten door de geheime diensten van onze landen? Hoe kunnen kunst, activisme en burgerlijke ongehoorzaamheid ingaan op deze nieuwe tijd van inbreukpolitiek? ALT. stelt zich ten doel bestaande instituten te hervormen en uit te breiden, te beginnen met dat van EDUCATIE.

Using the sancocho (a pan-Latin American soup with no fixed recipe) as a tool for research and encounter, Mercado Lourdes (Bogotá, Colombia) will host and organize a series of field meals. These events activate and connect the multiple affects that have resulted from ongoing research with local producers into the biodiversity of the territory.

In all continents, people have built matriarchal cosmologies sustained by complex rituals. In the advent of main modern religions and after centuries of colonizing invasions, the goddesses of antiquity were suppressed by the patriarchal structures that consolidated our era. However, they found ways to speak to us in the language of patterns, melodies, and poems. This workshop uses the voice as a method to reveal the presence of goddesses.
