Marta Keil
performing arts curator, dramaturge, and researcher
Marta Keil is performing arts curator, dramaturge, and researcher. She collaborates as a freelance curator, mentor, advisor, and dramaturge with various artistic and educational institutions, most recently with Residenz Schauspiel, Leipzig; München Kammerspiele, Munich; Viernulvier, Ghent; New Theatre Institute of Latvia, Riga; Rosendal Teater, Trondheim; and DAS Theatre, Utrecht University, Utrecht. She is a member of InSzPer (Performing Arts Institute) collective in Warsaw and a member of apap – Feminist Futures. Her curatorial and research practice seeks to reenchant the ways of instituting in the performing arts field and to maintain transnational alignments.
During the BAK Fellowship for Situated Practice, Keil will develop a research project about the practices of withdrawal in contemporary performing arts. A withdrawal is understood here as a political gesture that produces cracks, shifts the perception of reality, and opens new paths to pave. She will particularly focus on co-conceiving, developing, and implementing conditions for the process of withdrawal to take place.
Marta lives and works in Utrecht and Warsaw, and is part of the BAK Cell, Utrecht, in the Fellowship for Situated Practice.
