Katherine Gibson (born 1953) is a Professorial Research Fellow in the Institute of Culture and Society and Director of the Urban Research Centre at the University of Western Sydney, Sydney. She is an economic geographer with an international reputation for innovative research on economic transformation and over 30 years of experience in working with communities to build resilient economies. She has conducted action research projects in Asia, the United States, the Pacific, and Australia. As J.K. Gibson-Graham, the collective authorial presence she shares with the late Julie Graham (Professor of Geography, University of Massachusetts, Amherst), her books include: Take Back the Economy: An Ethical Guide for Transforming Our Communities (with Jenny Cameron and Stephen Healy) (2013), A Postcapitalist Politics (2006), and The End of Capitalism (As We Knew It): A Feminist Critique of Political Economy (1996).
